 商务英语专业课程建设概览

商务英语专业课程建设在充分进行了商贸类企业调研后,构建了基于工作岗位的课程体系,重构了课程内容,实施了教学做一体化教学模式。

 

我专业课程建设在校领导和相关处室大力支持下,按照学院课程建设的文件精神与要求,积极、主动地开展课程建设工作。多年来, 我专业课程建设取得了显著成效,完成了预期的建设目标与任务,使我专业课程教学水平、教学质量上了一个新台阶。

本专业的核心课程和基础课程已获得国家级和省级相关项目的大力支持,课程建设取得了巨大的成功,建设成果已应用于课程实践,受益于学生。课程建设成果具体如下:

同时,任课教师带领学生进行课程实践时,注重引入现代化的教学手段,课堂上用多媒体手段增加教学的生动性和趣味性。

 

    英语口语、英语听力、商务口笔译等课程根据需要在机房进行,学生根据教师的引导运用语音软件和语言学习平台如朗文英语等进行体验式和在线英语学习,能够提高课堂效率和课程教学效果,最终达到提高学生语言运用能力的目的。

课外时间,学生还可以运用英语学习网站如www.bjreview.com.cn,www.kekenet.com,www.wwenglish.com等进行英语新闻的听读、朗读,运用英语批改网www.pigai.org进行在线英语写作训练并可获得即时写作成绩反馈,学生可以根据修改意见进行修改并再次提交,直至满意为止。

  微课视频是教师们根据课程实践的需要,为学生课前预习和课后复习而准备的,为学生提供了很大便利,也可以提高课堂效率,也有助于培养学生的自主学习能力。

Comprehensive English I is a core compulsory course for business English majors. The contents of the course include pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, writing, translation and so on. Through this course of study, students are expected to master the basic English skills and English discourse, style, culture, pragmatics and rhetoric skills; students should master the practical application of language ability, good style of study and correct learning methods. Based on the practical application, this course emphasizes practical teaching, and through the actual language exercises, improves the students’ understanding of the curriculum content. Comprehensive English II is a core compulsory course for business English majors. It is the extended course of comprehensive English I which focuses on basic language contents. Course content includes senior English discourse, advanced reading and high level language training; through the course of learning, students are expected to master English discourse analysis skills and acquire the ability to use it; students should master different English discourses, styles, cultures, pragmatics, rhetorical devices and other basic concepts and methods. Based on the practical application, this course emphasizes practical teaching, and through the actual language exercises, improve the students understanding of the curriculum content. Assessment methods include daily performance (attendance, In-class tasks, extracurricular task and active speaking) and final exam based on 4:6.

 

 

3. 英美国家概况

 

是商务英语专业的一门专业选修课。课程内容包括两国基本情况、两国文化、文学及两国重大历史等部分。通过本课程的学习,使学生对英国和世界头号经济大国——美国情况的掌握和了解   ;学生应拓宽人文学科知识,扩大知识面,对西方不同文化、政治、经济、历史和科技教育等有较全面的了解。基于实际的应用,本课程强调实践教学,通过相关资料和实例演练,提高学生对课程内容的理解。课程的考核方案采用平时成绩(出勤、课内任务、课外任务、发言积极)、期末考试相结合,比例为46

The Introduction of England and America is a professional elective course for business English majors. The contents of the course include the basic situations, the cultures and the major events in the history of the two countries. Through learning the course students will be able to broaden and deepen their understanding on Britain and America as the world's top economic powers; students should expand their scope of knowledge on humanities, have a more comprehensive understanding of western cultures, politics, economies, histories, science and technology, education and so on. Based on the practical application, this course emphasizes practical teaching, and through the relevant information and examples of the exercise, improves the students' understanding of the course content. 4. 英语口语III [2学分]

     是商务英语专业的一门选修课。课程内容包含日常口语和商务口语两部分。通过本课程的学习,使学生能运用简单的日常英语进行对话,并能就所学课文回答问题,复述所学课文,做到语音、语调、语法基本正确。基于语言的实际应用,本课程强调真实商务情景和日常情景的操练,使学生增进对课本知识的理解和技能的掌握,以正确清楚的语音语调,用英语进行一般对外经贸业务谈判和生活接待。课程考核方案包括课堂表现、课堂任务的完成、课堂测试和期末口试。

Oral English III two credits

    Oral English is an optional course for business English major. The content of the course covers daily spoken English and business spoken language. Students should be able to speak English in daily situations, answer questions in the textbook, and retell the texts with a good command of pronunciation, intonation, and grammar by learning the course. This course emphasizes the practice of speaking English in both daily life and authentic business situations, with an aim to enhance students’ understanding of the textbook and attainment of skills in learning to speak English wells so that they can deal with foreign trade business negotiations and personal cross-cultural receptions. Assessment involves the classroom participation, the completion of the course tasks, quizzes and the final oral exam.

5. 英语口语IV [2学分]

是商务英语专业的一门选修课。课程内容包含日常口语和商务口语两部分。通过本课程的学习,使学生具备熟练的英语技能的同时了解商务知识,掌握职场语言的规范性和专业性。基于语言的实际应用,本课程强调真实商务情景和日常情景的操练,使学生具备较强的英语技能和商务贸易、商务谈判的综合技能,从而能够得体地使用工作交际用语。课程考核方案包括课堂表现、课程任务的完成、课堂测试和期末口试。

 

Oral English IV two credits

Oral English is an optional course for business English major. The content of the course covers daily spoken English and business spoken language. Students should learn some basic business knowledge while practicing their oral English with an effort to use standard and professional English in job situations. This course emphasizes the practice of speaking English in both daily life and authentic business situations, with an aim to enhance students communicative competence in foreign trade and business negotiations. Assessment involves the classroom participation, the completion of the course tasks, quizzes and the final oral exam.

 

6. 跨文化交际[1学分]

 

是商务英语专业的一门选修课。课程内容包含日常言语交际,语言交际,非语言交际,跨性别文化交际,谈判风格的文化差异五个部分。通过本课程的学习,使学生掌握跨文化交际的基本知识,包括语言、文化和交际三者之间的关系、交际形式、对象国文化和社会发展的趋势;基于实际的应用,本课程强调跨文化交际理论知识的运用,使学生在在涉外活动中能合理地分析每次跨文化交际过程中存在的问题和应注意的事项,提出解决方案,使跨文化交际能顺利进行。课程考核方案包括课堂表现、课程任务的完成、课堂测试和期末考试。

 

Cross-cultural Communication: ( 1 credit)

 

Cross-cultural communication is an optional course for business English major. The content of the course covers daily verbal communication, verbal communication, non-verbal communication cross-gender communication, and cultural variations in negation styles. students should master the basic knowledge of cross-cultural communication, including the relationship between language, culture and communication, forms of communication, culture and social development trends of target countries; this course emphasizes application of cross-cultural communication skills, with an aim to enable students to overcome difficulties and embarrassments that may arise in intercultural communication with corresponding solutions so that the process can be carried out smoothly. Assessment involves the classroom participation, the completion of the course task, quizzes and the final exam.

 

7. 外贸函电 [4学分]

 

是商务英语专业的一门理实一体化(必修)课程。课程内容包含商务函电基础、建立业务关系、询盘与回复、报盘与还盘、成交与下订单、签约、包装、装运、支付与结汇、商检、投诉与索赔等十二块内容。通过本课程的学习,学生能读懂并正确撰写对外商务活动各贸易环节所涉及到的书面函电、电子邮件等商务文书;学生应掌握书写外贸函电的7C标准。基于实际的应用,本课程强调做中学,通过多次书写操练,提高学生对课程内容的理解。课程考核方案包括考勤、课堂表现、平时作业和期末考试。

 

Business Letters & Correspondence [4 credits]

 

Business Letters & Correspondence is a required course of Business English majors, integrating theory and practice. The course content covers twelve modules. They are business letter writing principles, establishing business relations, inquiry and reply, offer and counter-offer, acceptance and placing orders, signing contract, packing, shipment, payment and settlement, insurance, commodity inspection, complaints, claims and adjustments, etc. After learning this course, students are able to read and write business letters or E-mails in English required in the process of related business activities by complying with seven C basic principles of business letter writing. Focusing on practical application, this course stresses learning by doing. Through written practices in class teaching, students can have a better understanding of this course. Assessment involves attendance, class performance, assignment and final examination.

 

 

8. 基础英语语法[1学分]

 

是商务英语专业的一门专业选修课程。课程内容包含虚拟语气、主谓一致、倒装结构、非谓语动词、独立主格结构、时态、名词性从句七大块内容。通过本课程的学习,学生能进一步巩固和提高英语语法功底,并能达到顺利完成日常话题的口头和笔头汉译英工作;学生应掌握上述七块内容相应的语法点。基于实际的应用,本课程强调做中学,通过写英语短文和英汉双语口笔译的操练,提高学生对课程内容的理解。课程考核方案包括考勤、课堂表现、平时作业和期末考试。

 

Basic English Grammar [1 credit]

 

Basic English Grammar is a specialty optional course for Business English majors. The course contents cover seven modules. They are subjunctive mood, subject-verb concord, inversion, non-predicate verbs, dangling structure, tense, and noun clause. Through learning this course, students are able to reinforce and improve their English grammar further and do oral interpretation and written translation on common topics related to daily life; Students are expected to master key grammatical points of seven modules mentioned above. Through practices in class teaching, students can have a better understanding of this course. Assessment involves attendance, class performance, assignment and final examination.

 

9. 外事接待训练[1学分]

 

是商务英语专业的一门专业选修课程。课程内容包含制定日程安排、机场迎宾、住宿与接待、宴会、电话咨询、商务拜访、商务会议、商务谈判、签订合同、观光娱乐、购物和送行十二块内容。通过本课程的学习,学生能恰当运用商务礼仪完成外事接待任务;学生应掌握上述十二块内容相应的知识和交际技巧。基于实际的应用,本课程强调做中学,通过一个个接待环节任务的操练,提高学生对课程内容的理解。课程考核方案包括考勤、课堂表现、平时作业和期末考试。

 

Practice in Foreign Affairs [1 credit]

 

Practice in Foreign Affair is a specialty optional course for Business English majors. The course contents cover twelve modules. They are making schedule, meeting at the airport, accommodation and reception, banquet, telephone inquiry, business visit, business meeting, business negotiation, signing contract, shopping and seeing guest off. Through learning this course, students are able to complete tasks related to foreign affairs; Students are expected to master key contents of twelve modules mentioned above. Through practices in class teaching, students can have a better understanding of this course. Assessment involves attendance, class performance, assignment and final examination.

 

10. 美国社会文化[0.5学分]

 

本课程是商务英语专业的一门专业选修课。通过本课程的学习,使学生了解美国的历史文化传统,扩大文化知识面,提高学生对文化差异的敏感性、宽容性和处理文化差异的灵活性;培养学生的跨文化交际能力,促进英语语言的学习和应用。

 

American social culture [0.5 Credits]

 

This course is an elective course for business English major. The course content covers the American historical and cultural traditions. The students are expected to expand the cultural knowledge, cultivate the cross-cultural communicative competence and bridge the “culture shock”.

 

11. 经典英文影视赏析 [1学分]

 

本课程是商务英语专业的一门专业选修课。课程内容包括精选影片的简介,故事梗概,主要人物,主要对白,语言和文化疑难点注释,理解、欣赏题,小组讨论题,影片名句或主题歌欣赏,影片评论、主要演员介绍和有关文化背景知识等。旨在培养学生对英语的理解能力,提高学生对经典英语电影作品的鉴赏水平,加强学生对西方社会的了解。

 

Appreciation of Classic Movies [1 Credits]

 

This course is an elective course for business English major. The course content covers 6 elective classic movies, each including brief introduction, synopsis, principal cast, main dialogues  language &cultural notes, questions on comprehension &appreciation, questions for group discussion, best excerpts,  movie reviews, introductions of the leading actors& actresses and related cultural background information. The students are expected to improve the ability of comprehension and appreciation on movies.

 

 

12. 英美文学欣赏[1学分]

 

本课程是商务英语专业的一门专业选修课。通过本课程的学习,普及必要的英语文学知识,帮助提高学生的英语语言水平,同时培养学生的人文素养和提高文学鉴赏的能力。本课程主要包括6位作家,英国文学中包括-1位诗人(William Shakespeare)和2 位小说家(Jane AustenCharlotte Bronte)的经典名著。美国文学中共入选1位诗人(Walt Whitman)和2位小说家(Mark Twain; Ernest Hemingway )的不朽名篇。

British and American Literature Appreciation (1 Credits)

This course is an elective course for business English major. The course helps the students to popularize the knowledge of English literature, improve their English language level, and meanwhile cultivate their humanistic quality and improve the ability of literary appreciation. This course mainly includes 6 writers’ immortal masterpieces. They are Shakespeare William, Austen Jane, Bronte Charlotte, Walt Whitman, Mark Twain and Ernest Hemingway.

 

13. 进出口实务(3学分)

进出口实务课程是商务英语专业的一门主要必修课程。本课程以国际货物买卖为对象,以交易条件和合同条款为重点,以国际贸易惯例和法律规则为依据,并联系我国外贸实际,具体介绍国际货物买卖的内容;各项交易条件和合同条款的规定方法;订立和履行国际货物买卖合同的基本环节和习惯做法。课程考核方案包括实训和期末考试。

 

Practice of Import And Export [3 Credits]

 

Practice of Import And Export is a required course for Business English major. The course is a practical course. In the course, the students study the basic items of international goods deal contract and the deal process of import and export in details, and analyze the dealings through studying cases. The students can understand and master the common operation and improve the ability to analyze and solve practical problems of import and export after studying the course. Assessment methods include actual operation and exams.


14. 单证操作训练(1学分)

单证操作训练课程是商务英语专业的一门选修课程。本课程以实训操作为主,主要操作外贸业务活动中所涉及的包括合同、信用证以及各种相关单据的缮制和处理方法。通过学习,学生能够熟练掌握商务单证的基本信息、缮制方法、审核技巧,为培养企业所需要的外贸人才打下良好的理论与实践基础。课程考核方案为实训

 

Trade Documentation(1 Credit)

Trade Documentation is an optional course for Business English major. The course is mainly a practice course, handling the documents related in the Foreign Trade Business. The students can understand and master the common operation and improve the ability to operating all the documents appeared in the process of a foreign trade business. Assessment methods will be actual operation.

15. 外贸跟单(1学分)

外贸跟单课程是商务英语专业的一门选修课程。本课程以培养外贸跟单员为目标,学生通过本课程的学习,可以熟悉外贸产品生产流程,了解外贸跟单各环节的工作内容,掌握外贸出口跟单工作中部分单证制作方法,使学生能在之后的单证操作实训环节中进行实践,并能够最终掌握外贸跟单的岗位操作能力。课程考核方案为实训和期末考试

 

Foreign Trade Documentary Practice(1 Credit)

Foreign Trade Documentary Practice is an optional course for Business English major. The aim of the course is to train the students to be a qualified foreign trade business sales assistant. The students can be acquainted with the whole procedures of froeign trade and the contents of the different steps in trade after studying the course. Assessment methods include actual operation and exams.

 

 

16. 英语阅读IIIIIIIV (4学分)

     是商务英语专业的一门选修课修课。课程内容包含讲解构词法、习惯用语、分析复杂从句;介绍英语国家语言背景知识;使用正确的阅读方法,如:略读法、查读法;掌握基本的阅读技巧,如:意群阅读法、扩大视距法、猜词法。教学目标为,提高学生的阅读速度、扩大词汇量和知识面,增强学生的英语语感。课程考核包含:25%的出勤,25%的作业和50%期末考试。

English Reading I,II,III,IV (4 CREDITS)

   It is a selective course for English major. The main content is explanation of word formation, use of idioms , analysis of complex sentences, introduction to the background of English countries; grasping the basic skills of reading , such as, reading in thought groups, boarding eye by span ,guessing meaning for wordsIncreasing the reading speed, enlarging the vocabulary and knowledge , strengthening the sense of language.

Assessment encompasses 25% for attendance, 25% for assignments, 50% for the final written exam.

17. 英语阅读I (2学分)

     是商务英语专业的一门必修课修课。课程内容包含讲解构词法、习惯用语、分析复杂从句;介绍英语国家语言背景知识;使用正确的阅读方法,如:略读法、查读法;掌握基本的阅读技巧,如:意群阅读法、扩大视距法、猜词法。教学目标为,提高学生的阅读速度、扩大词汇量和知识面,增强学生的英语语感。课程考核包含:25%的出勤,25%的作业和50%期末考试。

18. 文秘英语(2学分)

 

文秘英语旨在使学生了解并掌握从事秘书工作所需的英语专业用语,专业知识及商务工作知识。重点培养学生针对秘书工作对英语知识和运用英语语言的能力,为学生步入工作岗位做好准备。培养学生听、说、读、写的能力,在此基础上重点针对文秘工作及办公室工作英语对学生进行训练,学习完本课程后,学生应不仅能熟练运用各类办公英语进行工作、交流,还能熟悉文秘英语中各类应用文体的写作。本课程的考试方式为形成性考核。

 

Secretarial English (2 credits)

 

Secretarial English is an optional course for Business English major, which aims to provide students with important language points, professional knowledge and business activities for secretarial job. The course highlights the ability to grasp the secretarial English and apply it to the practical work so that students can be ready for their future job. It cultivates the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing comprehensively, which are the basis for polishing specialized English of secretarial job and office work. After learning the course, the students will not only combine their expert use of English expressions and professional knowledge to make communication, but also be well-informed of English practical writing of secretarial job. Curriculum evaluation is based on formative assessment.

 

 

19. 旅游英语(2学分)

 

旅游英语是一门使学生能掌握专门用途英语的课程,使学生能达到从事一般旅游业所需的英语水平和具备一定的旅游专业知识。本课程重视通过教学活动帮助学生掌握课文的重点和难点,并能用英语进行口头和笔头的表达。要求学生能基本掌握旅游学科的基础理论和基本知识,运用旅游理论分析和解决实际问题,具有旅游英语业务会话、基本的书写与翻译能力,有一定的导游能力和旅行社管理能力。本课程的考试方式为形成性考核。

 

Tourism English (2 credits)

 

Tourism English is an optional course of ESP for Business English major, which aims to provide students with important language points and professional knowledge for the students who are willing to engage in the tourist industry in their future job. The course thinks highly of interactive teaching activities that can help students grasp the focus and difficulty of the course, thus the students are required to express their ideas orally and in writing. The course attaches importance to basic theories and knowledge of tourism discipline, which can be applied to analyze and deal with the practical problems. After learning the course, the students are equipped with the abilities of tourism English conversation, writing and translation skills, and administration of tour guide and travel agencies. Curriculum evaluation is based on formative assessment.

 

20. 酒店情景英语(2学分)

 

本课程是商务英语专业的一门选修课,是针对酒店典型工作岗位中涉外工作服务而设置的。其功能在于让学生对酒店服务的常用英语有初步的认识,培养和训练学生的酒店英语会话技能和服务技能,使学生具备从事酒店服务工作的基本英语听力及口头表达能力,从而提高其熟练地运用英语与外宾交流与沟通的基本职业能力。本课程也进一步学习了酒店服务礼仪、前厅服务与客房管理。本课程的考试方式为形成性考核。

 

Hotel Situational English (2 credits)

 

Hotel Situational English is an optional course for Business English major, which involves the typical hotel positions and foreign-related hotel service. Aiming to grasp the preliminary English knowledge of the hotel service, the course cultivates and trains the students’ conversational English and service skills of hotel industry, so that the students are able to fulfill the English listening and speaking abilities of hotel service, thus improve the vocational ability by communicating with foreign guests in proficient English. Besides, the course also involves in hotel service etiquettes and management of hotel lobby and guest rooms. Curriculum evaluation is based on formative assessment.

Business English is a compulsory core course for business English majors. It sets up to cultivate students communication ability in the field of international business. Based on the practical job tasks, the course is given under various business scenarios such as description of company biography and performance, products and services, advertising, sales, recruitment, training and so on. The aim of learning the course is to enable students to manage fundamental business tasks with a good command of comprehensive English skills and the basic knowledge of international business. Through theoretical learning and practice, students would be able to communicate with clients and colleagues orally, read work-related English material such as correspondence, documents and internet resources, and write various kinds of business correspondence including email, note, notice, memo, invitation letter, proposal and so on.

 

22. 商务洽谈(1学分)

 

《商务洽谈》课程是面向商务英语专业开设的选修课程。该课程立足外贸业务领域所涉及的外贸谈判能力要求,以典型外贸谈判任务为载体,以工作过程为导向,将外贸知识+谈判方法与技巧+英语口语三者相结合,切实培养高职学生外贸洽谈能力。通过本课程的学习,使学生了解商务洽谈的基本原理和实务,熟悉商务洽谈的程序、内容、过程及礼仪规范,并通过项目实践使学生能够运用外贸知识、谈判策略及技巧、以及英语口语能力进行涉外商务洽谈活动。

Business Negotiation is a selective course for business English majors. Based on negotiation abilities in the field of international business, the course combines foreign trade knowledge, negotiation strategies and oral English ability by applying typical business negotiation tasks. The aim of learning the course is to enable students to communicate and negotiate with foreign clients in international business. Through theoretical learning and practice, students would be able to understand the basic principles and practice of business negotiation, be familiar with its procedure, contents, process and etiquette , and participate in real negotiations.

 

23. 会展英语(2学分)

 

《会展英语》课程是面向商务英语专业开设的选修课程。该课程依据会展行业对既具备会展行业知识又懂英语的应用型、复合型人才的需求设定人才培养目标,紧紧围绕职业岗位的实际需求,以职业能力培养为重点,以任务驱动教学模式帮助学生掌握会展专业知识并提高英语语言技能。在教学过程中,该课程将会展活动中的典型工作任务按照参展商客商两个不同的角色加以搜集、整理、归纳和整合,导出全部职业行动领域,再由行动领域导出学习领域,并通过适合教学的学习情景使其具体化,同时融入适度的相关理论知识,最后转化为适合于高职商务英语专业学生的教学内容。

 

 

Convention and Exhibition English (2 credits)

 

Convention and Exhibition English is a selective course for business English majors. In order to meet the need of exhibition industry, the course is aimed at training students to be fully aware of the exhibition knowledge and be able to carry out exhibition tasks in various kinds of foreign trade exhibitions by applying task-driven teaching mode. In the teaching process, the course collects and organizes the teaching material from the perspectives of exhibitors and visitors, and then designs simulation exhibition scenarios to enable students to put exhibition theory into practice.

营销职场英语商务英语专业的一门专业选修课主要通过系统地介绍营销职场的理论,使学生了解市场运作的基本知识及英语表达,通过典型案例选读,使学生了解营销职场各环节的真实场景,从而掌握相应的基础知识,提高英语交流表达能力,提供解决实际问题的能力要求学生通过学习,借助字典阅读营销职场资料,具备撰写简单的英语营销文书及国际商务信函的能力。课程考核主要包括平时作业和期末考试。

 

Marketing English [1 Credit]

 

Marketing English is a selective course for Business English major students. The course aims to introduce marketing theories so that students understand basic operation, theory as well as their English expressions. Through case study, students are required to know real operation in marketing and solve real problems. Their communication skills are also emphasized. Students are also expected to use tools including internet and dictionary to read materials on marketing, write basic marketing documents and letters in English.

The course assessment will consist of classroom assignments and final exam.

Oral English I [3 Credits]

 

Oral English I is a core and fundamental subject for Business English major students. It emphasizes practice and application, with communication and interaction highlighted in the small-size classroom. The course aims to train and improve students oral speaking skills and cross-cultural awareness through various activities and positive atmosphere in the classroom. Students are expected to know the cultural background and daily habits of major English-speaking countries. They are also required to present personal opinions and feelings, basic facts and reasons. They should have a clear voice, fluency and expressiveness with reasonable diction and intonation.

Students will be tested in formative assessment and final exam, mainly in oral form.

26. 英语口语II [4学分]

本课程是高等职业技术学院商务英语类专业的一门核心课程、专业基础课程。

课程教学活动将设计成若干项目或工作情景,以项目为单位展开教学,是学生在教学过程中深化英语口头交流能力、跨文化意识和团队合作能力,并通过对专业知识和英语国家文化习俗的深入认识,进一步培养综合口语能力。要求学生能深入表达观点,陈述事实,能与英语国家人士进行较流利的会话,表达逻辑清晰,语言内容得当。

本课程主要采用形成性考核和期末考试评价学生。

 

Oral English II [4 credits]

Oral English II is a core and fundamental course for Business English major students. The course will be carried out in projects and work situations, where students play a role and act out the scenes. Through projects and group work, students are expected to further enhance their abilities in oral communication, cross-cultural awareness and teamwork spirit. As they understand better theories and cultural habits of English-speaking countries, students are required to improve their comprehensive oral skills. Students shall express whole ideas and opinions, present facts thoroughly and have fluent conversations on certain topics with English-speakers. They should have clear logic in expression and good contents.

The course will test students both in formative assessment and final exam.

Based on the revised version of the new CET syllabus, the course aims to provide students opportunities to look into procedures and content of the past authentic CET-4 papers and check corresponding test strategies and skills in terms of the four sub-section in CET-4 paper: Writing, Listening, Reading and Translation. By providing sufficient practices and assignments, the course also encourages and helps students make up their own preparation plan for the test and enhance efficiency and save time. It is an elective course for all language majors. 本课程为面向英语语言专业专业大一、二学生开设的语言类必修课程。是由基于互联网多媒体环境下的自主线上学习和有外教导引的线下课堂听说活动为辅的交互性听说课程,其旨在提高学生在一般日常生活或工作环境中听说沟通能力,偏重实际应用,尤其是商务沟通。自主学习环境的搭建选择了美国培生教育集团的朗文交互英语LIE系统(1-4级)。该课程考核50%来自线上学习内容成绩,50%来自外教打分的课程面授互动表现。

 

English Listening I, II ,III , IV 8 credits

 

This course is four-semester compulsory one for all English language major students which aims to improve the comprehensive ability of students to listen and speak, and achieve effective communication skills in general daily or working situations via a combination between internet-based multimedia self-access leaning(from Pearson Inc. LIE platform L1-L4) and supplementary guided in-classroom tutoring led by foreign instructors. Assessment encompasses 50% online learning scores and another 50% in-class performance given by foreign instructors.

英语语音是商务英语专业的一门专业选修课程。课程内容包含英语音素、英语重音、英语语流和英语语调四个部分。通过本课程的学习,学生可以系统了解英语语音、语调的基本知识,并掌握英语的发音、语流的规律及语调的功能,最终达到能用正确的语音语调进行朗读、表达和交际的目的。本课程强调课堂讲授和练习并重。课程的考核方案:总评成绩100% = 平时成绩(出勤、课内任务、课外任务)40%+期末考试60%

English Phonetics is an optional specialized course for Business English major.

The course covers English phonemes, English stress, English speech flow and English intonation.

From the course students would know the basics of English pronunciation and intonation systematically. Meanwhile, they are expected to master manners of articulation, rules for speech flow and functions of intonation. The course aims to enable students to read, express and communicate with correct pronunciation and intonation.

The course attaches equal importance to the teacher’s teaching and students’ practice.

Assessment: final grade 100% = daily performance (attendance, in-class tasks and extracurricular tasks) 40%+ final exam 60%.

The course covers the writing of English resumes, application letters, notices, posters, thank-you notes, letters of congratulations and memos.

From the course students would know the basic formats, features and related vocabulary and expressions of applied writing in common use. Meanwhile, they are expected to write the above-mentioned writing styles in English.

The course attaches equal importance to teacher’s teaching and students’ practice.

   是一门专业选修课。课程内容包括介绍影片故事背景、讲解重点词汇和句型、欣赏经典台词、学生评析影片所表现的主题。影片包括:乱世佳人、双城记、狮子王、阿甘正传、战地钟声、白雪公主、音乐之声、傲慢与偏见、魂断蓝桥、简爱。教学方法采用自编英文讲义、英文课件,课堂双语讲授,以英文为主。课程考核方案包括学生以小组为单位制作影评PPT和电影片段配音。

 

British and American Film Appreciation [1 Credit]

 

British and American Film Appreciation is the major elective course for the Business English Majors. The main steps of the movie appreciation include: introduction to the background of the movie, explanation of the key words and sentences in the movie, appreciation of classical actor’s lines, appraisal of the morals in the movie. And the classical movies include: Gone with the Wind, A Tale of Two Cities, the Lion King, Forrest Gump, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sound of Music, Pride and Prejudice, Waterloo Bridge, Jane Ere. Using English handouts and English courseware and using English language as the major class language aided with Chinese if necessary. Curriculum evaluation includes group PPT making about film review and group dubbing films clips.

 Business Translation是商务英语专业的一门专业核心课程。课程的目标是培养学生国际商务与贸易业务的英汉互译能力(包括口译和笔译)。课程内容包括:翻译基本理论与原理讲解、商务英语翻译基本技巧讲练和各种文体的商务英语翻译实践三大部分。在教学过程中,采用项目化教学方法,以翻译工作任务引领,注重的互动,让学生在翻译实践中学习应用翻译理论知识。课程的考核:期末翻译考试。

 

 

Business Translation [8 Credits]

 

 Business Translation is a required course for English Majors. The teaching aim is to cultivate students’ international business and trade business English-Chinese translation ability (including interpretation and translation). The course content covers three main parts: basic theory and basic principles of translation and interpretation introduction, business English translation and interpretation methods introduction and business English translation and interpretation practice. In the teaching process, the project teaching method will be used, with translation and interpretation task as the lead, the course focuses on interaction between teaching and practice. Let the students learn the Translation and interpretation theoretical knowledge in the experiment. Curriculum evaluation: the final translation exam.

剑桥职业英语是商务英语专业的一门专业选修课。课程体现了以职业标准为导向,以职业技能为核心的指导思想,突出工作技能教学和核心岗位能力培养,实践教学贯穿教学的整个过程,真正实现了基于工作过程的课程教学,指导学生学习行业背景知识和实践技能,并选择具有普适性的项目进行强化教学。教学过程中,学生以小组为单位完成各项工作任务。课程考核:二人一组,以某个职场为情境,进行现场对话测试。

 

 

Cambridge Workplace English [1 Credit]

 

Cambridge workplace English is the major elective course for the Business English Majors. It sets up to cultivate students’ communication ability in the field of workplace, such as international business. Based on the practical job tasks, the course is given under various business scenarios such as description of company biography and performance, products and services, advertising, sales, recruitment, training and so on. The aim of learning the course is to enable students to manage fundamental workplace tasks with a good command of comprehensive English skills and the basic knowledge of career. In the teaching process, students are required to participate in different team work tasks. Curriculum evaluation: two students a group, oral test based on the workplace situation.

 

38. 顶岗实习 (12学分)

 

顶岗实习为商务英语专业必修课程,共12周计划教学时间,计12学分,为纯实践课程。本课程旨在让学生在指导教师的指导下在真正的工作环境中运用自己所学的专业知识进行岗前训练,鼓励学生做中学,学生在实习期间须接受来自企业及学校的管理与指导。本课程考核由企业及学校合作进行,企业指导教师及学校指导教师打分各占50%,满分为100

 

Off-Campus Internship [12 Credit]

 

Off-Campus Internship is one of the prescribed courses for the students majoring in Business English, this course lasts for 12 weeks and carries 12 credits, it is a pure practice-based course. Which is intended to enable the students to acquire practical skills by working in real marketplace, the typical feature of this course in “Learning by Doing”, the students should take guidance from those professionals in the workplace and their teachers in college as well. The course assessment is jointly conducted by the college and their employers, both accounts for 50%, the total score is 100.

 

 

 

39. 毕业论文(设计)(4学分)

 

毕业论文(设计)为商务英语专业必修课程,共4周计划教学时间,计4学分,为纯实践课程。本课程旨在让学生在经过两年半的专业学习后根据自己所学的知识选择一个自己感兴趣的研究主题进行深入研究并撰写研究论文并完成答辩。本课程考核过程中论文分数占比70%,答辩分数占比30%,满分为100

 

Thesis (Project) Design [4 Credit]

 

Thesis (Project) Design is one of the prescribed courses for the students majoring in Business English, this course lasts for 4 weeks and carries 4 credits, it is a pure practice-based course. In this course, the students should select a topic and work out a thesis or project report under the guidance of their teachers, at the final stage, the students are requested to undergo oral defense for their thesis or project. The quality of thesis or project (70%) and oral defense (30%) will be taken into consideration in course assessment, the total score is 100
